Kayak Time Tours will not be reopening in 2023. Thank you for four years of paddling fun touring the Finger Lakes Region.

Full payment is due at the time of booking. Kayak Time’s payment system is FareHarbor. You must have a valid credit or debit card to submit payment.

Cancelation and Rescheduling Policy

Any tour canceled for any reason by the paddler 30 days or more before the tour date will be refunded minus a 15% administration fee. Tours canceled less than 30 days before the tour date will not be refunded.

Feel free to contact Kayak Time to reschedule your tour to any open tour date.

Kayak Time reserves the right to cancel any tour for any reason. That being said, cancelations are rare, the most common reason being unsafe weather conditions.  We do not cancel for rain.

Any tour canceled by Kayak Time will be offered a later date to reschedule or a full refund.

Kayak Time Guides reserve the right to alter or cut short any tour because of safety concerns or weather conditions.

Late Arrivals and No-Shows

Late arrivals will be charged full price and participation in the tour will be at the discretion of your guide.

No-show participants will be charged full price. This includes showing up with less paddlers than the original amount booked.

Alcohol and Drugs

No alcohol or illegal drugs will be tolerated on any tour. Failure to follow this policy will result in termination of the tour and forfeiture of your booking fees. Your guides are responsible for your safety while on the water. Drugs and alcohol not only endanger yourself, but everyone else on the tour.

If your guide must call for assistance during the tour because a participant is judged by the guide to be under the influence of or in possession of drugs or alcohol, that participant is liable for paying all associated rescue and transportation costs.

Medical Conditions

If you have a potentially serious medical condition, consult with your doctor before booking a tour. Please note that professional medical responders may be far from tour locations. You must have a reasonable level of confidence in your physical ability to complete the tour you booked. All of our tours can be completed with little to no experience in kayaking, however they do require sustained physical exertion.

No woman in her third trimester of pregnancy may participate in a tour.  Any pregnant women should first consult with their doctor before participating.

All tours begin with a safety and basic technique lesson. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of your tour and be prepared to participate in this instruction.

While capsizing a kayak is unlikely, it is a scenario you must be ready for. Your guide will give you advice on how to be more stable in the kayak. In the event of a capsize, your guide will give instructions and assist you on how to get back inside the kayak, then help pump enough water out of your cockpit so you can get safely to shore. Even with assistance it takes some physical strength to re-enter a kayak. As an example, If you are unable to easily exit the deep end of a swimming pool without using a ladder, please let your guide know.

While tours are issue-free the vast majority of the time, please be aware of the potential dangers of lightning, cold water, and delayed access to emergency services. These will all be explained in greater detail by your guide. If you have specific concerns, please do not hesitate to ask your tour guide.

If your guide must call for assistance during the tour because of the tour participant’s noncompliance with their instructions, that participant is liable for paying all associated rescue and transportation costs.
